Do yourself a favour and DO NOT BUY A VW! Most unsupportive Vehicle manufacturer I have ever dealt with. Having owned Mazda's, Fords and Toyotas I have never had half the issues I have had with this company. We had an issue with a second hand vehicle we purchased which is in excellent condition and low KM's for the year. Took it to a dealership for standard service, no issues at the time, was told would be approx. $460 in total and had a call telling us it would be around 5K. They replaced a Mecha-seal kit that cost us 1.5K which we agreed to because they told us the car transmission would fail if we didn't. They tried to tell us we needed brakes with 4mm still on all pads and a host of other issues that didn't exist. Fast forward 12 mths and guess what, we are now paying 4.7K for the failed mecha-unit which has faulted and no agreement to support the reimbursement of the wrong item originally replaced. Sharks! When we researched it has come to light that this is a known issue with the Golf TSI Highlines. So given we have outlaid a sum not even 12mths prior that is still under warranty, we approached VW in good faith that they would assist with the repair or at least some of the cost given our recent outlay and the fact they have held my car to ransom for 6 weeks, when I say well known it is a global fact that this transmission has significant flaws for VW and Audi. 3 responses after delaying me with repairs over the past 6 weeks and still unable to provide me with a reasonable response on why they will not support or assist us with the cost of this faulty unit they placed in their vehicles. The response they have vaguely offered discriminates against us as not being the first owners. You cannot discriminate people purchasing second hand vehicles. Worth noting given it was VW who gave the mechanical sign off on inspection prior to us agreeing to sale. They call out servicing - this vehicle has been serviced only by VW it's entire life-span and on time withe exception to one that only just fell short of the timeline, so feeble response. KM's - the fault in this is that the car has done less than what it should each year and the Mecha-unit based on warranty information should last well over 300K it hasn't even achieved half of that. So my suggest to anyone thinking that VW's are a good vehicle, DO NOT BUY ONE, the company is non-supportive, discriminative of owner history and an overall nightmare to deal with. We will go back to a reliable Toyota and never deal with a company as poor in service as this one again. I have been without a vehicle for 6 weeks which has impacted my ability to do my job fully and impose on others to get me from A - B, not even a vehicle offered whilst they had these poor guys in the workshop on hold. I would like to however say that the team who did fix our vehicle were wonderful to deal with but the company itself as a Manufacturer is appalling. No responsibility at all for your shoddy vehicles and commitment to customer care. Disgusting business ethics!

Worst customer service, managers do not call back. You ask to speak to a leader and get told there are no managers on. No accountability or ownership taken by the company for their faulty cars. Transmission went within 3years and then the shifter cable. Shocking mechanics. If I had an old car I would understand the breakdowns. Unacceptable. Total disappointment.

We purchased a brand new Volkswagen Golf convertible 6 years ago. We looked after it well clocking up only 25000km over the 6 years and servicing the car regularly at Volkswagen. Now it seemed that as soon as the warranty ran out little issues started developing shortly after they had to replace the airbags because they deemed them unsafe and obviously it was a manufacturing fault. Just recently our car started overheating so we had to take it there to be fixed. No communication apart from your cars ready for pick up only to find out that the cost was over 2K to replace the water pump. Fair enough we paid for that. Shortly after the car was ready for service and we explained about the radio not working all of a sudden and also the rear camera only working when it felt like. They explained that it would cost $350 just to look at that so fair enough we’ll pay that additional cost so that it could be fixed. Once again no real communication apart from your cars ready for pick up. When we got there the problem wasn’t fixed at all. Instead all they could offer is a replacement which would cost over 9K. You can imagine the shock of hearing this. All I remember from chatting explaining my frustrations to one of their staff members were the words “I UNDERSTAND “which was repeated on more then 5 occasions and please don’t forget to rate me and give me a score of atleast 9 or 10 out of 10. Mins you after bringing it to the attention of another one of their so called GOOD WILL departments which I had to do myself it turned out that GOOD WILL was not so good at all. Their care factor for customers is absolutely below care whatsoever. I did recieve that review and we marked it truthfully as to how we felt about Volkswagen only to have some guy who obviously is in slightly some kind of higher position call me to state that my review was a bit harsh only to leave me in false hopes that there might be a chance that Volkswagen might fix the problem knowing that it was clearly no our fault and a manufacturing fault however once again disappointed with the outcome. What I don’t understand is if Volkswagen truly cares for its customers then why do they have front line staff dealing with the issues who don’t have the tools to rectify the problem and fix anything they deem is unfair for the consumer to keep their clients happy rather put pressure on the front line staff to beg for a good rating by offering to take out the fees for the windscreen wipers but leaving the 9K problem which once again is not our fault and clearly their manufacturing fault in fixed. This by far is the worst ever customer care I we have been dealt with by any organisation and I’d be really surprised if Volkswagen would have win any best of the car rewards. In fact it would come as no surprise if they are rated the worst car manufacturing company. What a complete disgrace. I would truly not recommend anybody going there to buy a brand new car from them.

Worst customer service ever i had. Personal experience: As a Volkswagen lover i always brought the vv cars even though when people said me they got some issues I dint care them and brought vv jetta which has 2 times transmission problems and now there is a problem with engine which costs around $4k-$6k. Which is more high and cant affordable as an international student here in Aus. When I contacted vw for financial assistance they said i need to commit for 1500$ Just to strip a engine and later they gona appply for financial claim which will be not assured totally with the approval or not. If not again i need to spend 1500$ to fix the stripped engine without any repair I appeal for the people don't go for vw because they really doesn’t care of there customers once the car is been sold and even thought its there technical and mechanical issues. One more question to vw:how can you make and release a car into market when it cant even drive hundred thousand kms.

Do yourself a favour and don't buy VW. Cars aren't designed to last much past the expiration of the warranty period, and when, not if but when, the cars break you'll be left with the pleasure of dealing with their 'customer care' team who ironically don't care about their customers. Do. Not. Buy. Their. Cars.

Poor responsiveness and support from the VW Group despite good work on behalf of the Dealer. VW wouldn't warrant a ~ $2,000 EGR Cooler replacement even though only ~ 10,000 km done since prior replacement of the same expensive part !!!.
